- I write plays but only for my own consumption — to release my current emotion. I don’t have any formal training on this, so I can’t teach you the technicalities, thus, I’m not sure if I’m in the position to give a tip. But well, all I can say, write as what your heart says.

- Yes. My best friend is in UP Manila, and my other friends are in Ateneo. It’s quite frustrating at first, but you’ll learn how to make new friends. The value of that is to test how strong your friendship is. Well, I’m pretty much sure that you’ll still make ways to see each other as often as you could. For now, just enjoy your college life, meet new friends, and start a whole new barkada.
10. What are the possible careers of a communication research graduate?
- You can go in to Advertising (as Strategic Planner), you can also try PR, you can also go as far as writing speeches for the President or any official, or even your boss, you can be a project consultant, you can also go into survey organizations, you can even try broadcasting (Ivan Mayrina and Ces Drilon are Comm Res graduates), you can go into market research firms, you can be a lecturer or a Communication professor, or apply to the Business Project Development/Unit of a media company, you can enter a media and research agency, and the list of possible paths goes on and on. Comm Res has a really wide range of careers stored for its graduates. So, there.
11. what’s communication research? what is it’s nature? what is it’s difference from other communication courses? i’m not google-ing ‘cause i want first hand info sana. thanks!
- Answering what Communication Research, to be honest, is the most difficult question ever. Simply, because I do not memorize verbatim any technical definition of it. Well, comparing it to Broadcasting (which specializes on news delivery, productions, etc.), and Film (which are for movies and the likes), and Journ (which, as I assume we all know, are for print — newspapers and magazines and even digital such as blogs). Communication Research would be the linking factor for all these communication courses. We study the communication processes within an environment, and even study the effects of different programs to a certain audience — how it frames the mindset of Filipinos? how it shape and affect the behavior and attitude? We analyze why things are happening on a communication perspective. If you’ll ask me how is it applicable to Advertising, well, Comm Res would be a very good background when it comes to coming up with strategic plans as to how you’ll introduce and go about a particular campaign. Comm Res uses research methods that would actually gather consumer insights regarding a particular brand. And since we should know how the target audience thinks and behaves, then we would recommend appropriate and effective campaign strategies. Oh, what am I talking about, haha, hope that helps!
